  • Friends, to block your number is you should go nearest airtel customer center and you have to give a written request.
  • You can raise a request to customer care or visit nearest airtel store, they will raise a request for disconnections and the same will get closed in next 7 to 10 days.
  • You can also call 121 or 198 from any airtel sim & talk to airtel agent for deactivating your sim.
  • Fill the duplicate SIM card form with attach to provide your address proof and two photos.
  • Now you can SIM replacement charges and after to get blocked your Sim.



You will be given a new SIM card. It takes up to 4 hours for the new SIM card to be activated. Airtel will carry forward the remaining balance and validity from your old SIM to the new sim.



How to Block Lost Airtel Mobile Phone


  1. Friends, If you have lost your mobile phone then you can immediately stop your Airtel services by calling at 121.
  2. You can call 121 or 9849098490 from any mobile number of Airtel network.
  3.  Airtel toll free number for non-Airtel Users is 18001034444.
  4. The toll free number will work both Airtel Prepaid and Postpaid customers.
  5. Customer to block the sim know your recent call dial numbers, recent recharge on your mobile number, address of the customer who has lost or id proof.
  6. To get a new sim for resuming your Airtel services visit nearest Airtel Store along with the copy of your valid identity and address proof to get a new Airtel SIM.
  7. Calling 121 will be charged at 50 paise per 3 minutes.



How to get back a lost Airtel number, getting a duplicate SIM -

1. FIR

First lodge an FIR complaint to the concerned Police Station. One thing to note here is that you can file a complaint to the police station of the area where you actually lost the phone.

 While writing the application, don’t forget to mention the correct time when you lost the phone. The officer would stamp it and give you a copy of the filed FIR, This is important to prevent legal problems if the missing SIM is used for wrong purposes by someone. Also, FIR would be required for the issuance of a duplicate SIM.

2. Block SIM


After FIR, to block the SIM. This can be done by calling customer care on 198 from any Airtel prepaid number. The customer care official would ask you of last recharge, validity and other information.

Once you give a satisfactory answer, the outgoing calls from the lost SIM would be blocked. Though, incoming would be on for some time.


3. Get Duplicate SIM

To retrieve the SIM, go to the nearest authorized Airtel Care and submit a photocopy of the FIR along with your identification proofs. They’ll verify the details, and then probably ask for 5 numbers where you called the most.

Once everything is done, they’ll give you an application form. Fill the application and submit. You’ll be given a fresh SIM card of the same lost Airtel number. You’ve to pay Rs 25 for the issued duplicate SIM and the SIM would activate in 2-3 hours.
